Working in Yorkshire to beat cancer Yorkshire Cancer Research is one of many cancer charities in the UK that work every day towards finding cures for different forms of the disease. We are the UK's largest regional medical research charity, funding cancer research that is carried out by world-class scientists and clinicians across Yorkshire and providing cancer information to help local people beat cancer. Together with our partner charities fighting cancer in the UK we have made many breakthroughs which have greatly improved the way we prevent, diagnose, treat and deal with the after-effects of the disease.
Our work has been part of this vital progress and has saved the lives of many people in Yorkshire and around the world.

A group of business people in Yorkshire got together to form a unique community via linkedin.com it has brought businesses from all over Yorkshire together to share ideas and to help promote business in Yorkshire. From small beginnings it now has over 6000 members and is still growing. The group holds no cost informal drinks meetings that enable Yorkshire businesses to meet each other and do business together. In March 2011 it held itÂ’s first Yorkshire Mafia conference for business attracting well over 2000 people to the Leeds Armouries to listen to prominent Yorkshire business people talk about marketing and business in general.
We manufactured and supplied the YM lapel pins in January 2011 for one of the groups founder members Danny Matharu. They have been selling the lapel pins to members of the Yorkshire Mafia group and the money raised has gone to local Yorkshire charities. Keep up the good work! www.theyorkshiremafia.com
